# Elaine King, CFP®, Brings Bilingual Financial Education to FOX News for Financial Literacy Month

**Miami, April 2026 —** For Financial Literacy Month, Elaine King, CFP®, founder of Family and Money Matters™, was invited to FOX News to address the relationship between money and couples before a national English-speaking audience. A regular voice on networks serving the Hispanic community, King is one of the few Latina financial planners contributing to the U.S. financial conversation in both languages.
***Key Idea.*** *Conflicts between partners rarely begin with money, but with the story each person carries; if you don’t define it together, money divides.*
##### **Why It Matters**
Financial conflicts in relationships rarely originate in money itself, but in the stories, beliefs, and emotions each person brings. Carrying that idea to an English-speaking audience, from a Latina perspective, broadens a conversation that audience seldom hears in those terms.
##### **Elaine King’s Perspective**
- **From “my money” to a shared purpose.** On FOX News, King explained that when couples stop thinking in terms of “my money” and “your money” and build a common purpose, money stops dividing and becomes a tool of trust: *“if you don’t define money together, money will divide you.”*
- **Women’s financial stress.** On Ante Usted she noted that, by her reading, more than 70% of women report money-related stress, compounded in the “sandwich generation” caring for both children and aging parents.
- **PODER™: purpose first.** She presented her PODER framework, whose first letter, P for Purpose (Propósito), places clarity ahead of budgeting: “a budget without purpose is just a list of numbers.”
- **During the holidays, create memories.** On Telemundo, she emphasized that it's not about how much we spend on candy, decorations, or last-minute gifts, but about the experiences we create as a family.
